Local Couple Makes Sweet Success in Cake and Catering Business
In the city of Kings and Queens, a young couple is making waves in the culinary world with their passion for baking and catering services. What started as a hobby for the couple quickly evolved into a profitable business venture.
Obvious Mukondiwa (28) and his wife Sharon Mangoto (27) are the proud founders of Ovee’s Cakes and Catering Services, a registered company that has been gaining popularity since its inception in 2021.
“We started as an interest in making cakes, and later we realized that we could do it for profit and also add catering services to our offerings,” Mangoto shared during our interview.
Chasing Opportunities
With Obvious’s background in working in the kitchen since 2015, the couple saw an opportunity to leverage his experience and turn their love for baking and business into a successful enterprise.
One of the key factors that set Ovee’s Cakes and Catering Services apart from others in the industry is their commitment to excellence.
“Our products and services are of top quality, and we pride ourselves on delivering a high level of professionalism, good customer care, and reliability,” Mangoto explained.
These values have helped them build a loyal customer base and establish a strong reputation in the market.
Like many small businesses, Ovee’s faced challenges along the way, including the lack of funds and visibility in the market. However, through reinvesting their profits into the business and strategic advertising on platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook, the couple has been able to overcome these obstacles and continue to grow their business.
Staying Ahead
When asked about their approach to creating unique menu options, Mangoto emphasised the importance of research and staying abreast of food trends.
“We always follow the food trends and fuse them with our own creations to cater to our customer preferences,” she explained. This commitment to innovation has allowed them to stay ahead of the competition and keep their offerings fresh and exciting.
Despite the challenges they have faced, Obvious and Sharon remain focused on delivering exceptional products and services to their customers. “We make sure that our products and services are top-notch, our advertising is stylish, and we provide consistent and excellent customer care,” Mangoto stated.
One memorable moment for the couple was when they successfully executed a tiered cake, which initially seemed daunting. “We were skeptical and afraid that it would be a flop, but it turned out beautifully and boosted our confidence,” Mangoto recalled. As they continue to grow their business, Obvious and Sharon are committed to pushing boundaries and exploring new opportunities.
Determined to Overcome
“The secret of going ahead is getting started; it always seems impossible until it’s done,” Mangoto shared, echoing their determination to overcome challenges and achieve success.
With their contact details readily available and a strong presence on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok, Ovee’s Cakes and Catering Services is poised for even greater success in the future. As they look ahead, the couple is considering implementing staff specialization to further enhance their offerings and efficiency.
In a city known for its vibrant culinary scene, Obvious Mukondiwa and Sharon Mangoto are carving out their own niche with Ovee’s Cakes and Catering Services. With a passion for baking, a commitment to excellence, and a drive to succeed, this dynamic couple is certainly making a sweet success in the world of cake and catering.
