Local Music Artist Ntombiziyamfisa Calls for Ministry Support to Local Music Business
Ntombiziyamfisa, a renowned local music artist in Bulawayo, is appealing for essential equipment and financial support from the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage as well as potential sponsors to expand his successful music business.
Ntombiziyamfisa, 29, has been creating beautiful Zimbabwean-inspired music for the past years, performing at local venues and festivals. However, he says he is limited in his ability to record high-quality music, produce music videos, and pursue larger-scale opportunities due to a lack of essential recording equipment and studio space.
“I started my music business from humble beginnings, using basic equipment to record songs in my home,” Ntombiziyamfisa explained.
He added, “Over the years, I have built a loyal fan base and developed a reputation for unique, soulful sounds that blend traditional Zimbabwean rhythms with modern influences. But to take my music to the next level, I desperately need support to purchase professional-grade recording equipment, a music studio, and other specialised gear.”
Without access to essential tools, Ntombiziyamfisa says he is forced to rely on lower-quality, makeshift recording setups, limiting his ability to produce the calibre of music and music videos that would appeal to larger audiences and music industry players.
In addition to equipment, Ntombiziyamfisa is also appealing for financial support from the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage, as well as potential sponsors, to help grow his music business.
“As a local artist, I’m passionate about preserving and promoting Zimbabwe’s rich musical heritage through my work. But it’s been an uphill battle trying to secure funding and resources from the government and private sector,” he said.
Ntombiziyamfisa explained that additional financial support would allow him to not only purchase essential recording equipment and build a music studio, but also hire additional musicians and producers, invest in marketing and promotion, and potentially expand his reach beyond the local Bulawayo market.
“With the right support, I know I can turn my music business into a thriving enterprise that creates jobs, celebrates Zimbabwean culture, and inspires the next generation of artists,” he said. “But I can’t do it alone. I’m calling on the Ministry, corporations, and the public to help me take my work to the next level.”
Fortunately, Ntombiziyamfisa’s pleas for support have not fallen on deaf ears. The Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage has expressed interest in his case and promised to review potential funding and resource allocation options.
