Bulawayo Digital Creator Using Humor to Educate and Connect with Audiences
Sipho Mercent Nyathi, a digital creator who utilises technological advancements to tell stories that interpret everyday life within society, is gaining popularity for his enlightening and educational content.
Inspired by the everyday issues people face, Nyathi brings a unique perspective to his viewers, often making them laugh while shedding light on real-life tragedies that occur regularly.
Aiming to Enlighten
In an interview, Nyathi shared, “My content aims to enlighten, educate, and bring a whole new experience to my viewers. I want to make them laugh, even in the darkest of situations.”
Through his storytelling, Nyathi hopes to provide a platform for his audience to reflect on the challenges they face and find humour in them.
Nyathi’s dedication to his audience is evident in his interaction with them. He always takes the time to reply to comments, sometimes even using videos to engage further. However, he faces challenges in producing high-quality videos and audio due to a lack of resources.
Cyberbullying
“I often have to borrow equipment from friends, which is why the quality of my videos may vary,” Nyathi explained.
Despite his efforts to create meaningful content, Nyathi has also encountered cyberbullying from some viewers.
“People tend to insult and criticise my work, which can be disheartening. But I try to focus on the positive feedback and continue creating content that resonates with my audience,” he shared.
When asked about his goals for the future, Nyathi expressed his desire to establish a content creation studio.
Educating Viewers
“I want to have a space where I can continue to tell stories, educate, and entertain my viewers. It’s my passion, and I hope to expand my reach and impact more people through my work,” he said.
