Effort Cleaning and Prints Company in Bulawayo gaining recognition for exceptional service delivery
Effort Cleaning and Prints, a cleaning and printing services company founded by a group of four individuals in 2018, continues to thrive despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasingly competitive market in Bulawayo.
According to Effort Melusi Gumbi, one of the founders, the company’s success is due to a combination of factors including good management, competitive pricing, and the team’s dedication to customer satisfaction.
Pricing and Good Management
“I was inspired by other cleaning and printing companies I came across in South Africa which were making money through those services,” Gumbi said. “Pricing and good management sets Efforts Clean and Prints apart from other cleaning and printing companies in Bulawayo.”
Gumbi also brings experience from his previous role as a manager at Pick ‘n Pay, where he was able to observe and learn from various cleaning companies he worked with.
The company provides cleaning services for newly built and renovated buildings, retail shops, residential apartments, and malls. They also cater to carpet cleaning needs.
Satisfied Customers
“We do once off deep cleaning or fulltime contracts,” Gumbi said. “We always ensure customer satisfaction through good management whereby our managers always supervise work. We also allow our customers to come and check if the work was done properly or to their satisfaction.”
However, the COVID-19 pandemic posed a major challenge to the company since fewer clients were willing to hire cleaning services in fear of spreading the virus. But Effort Cleaning and Prints tackled this by adopting new technologies and utilizing social media platforms for marketing and communication with clients.

“We maintain standards to keep the company going and overcome this challenge,” Gumbi said. “We have many success stories because we started with no equipment, but now we have built a reputation in the community.”

Affordable Prices
Furthermore, the company’s prices are affordable and flexible. Clients only pay a deposit and settle the balance after the work is done to their satisfaction.
“Effort cleaning founder advises anyone looking to start a cleaning and printing business in Bulawayo to be passionate, hard worker, persistent, and patient,” Gumbi said.
They have provided services to various big companies such as Skyz Metro FM, Choppies Supermarkets, Casmyn Mining, Getbucks Bank, and Steward Bank.
Lastly, the team has plans to expand beyond Bulawayo and cover more areas in the future. The company’s success can be attributed to dedication, choice of management, and never compromising on quality.
