Former Garden Boy Connives With Friend to Steal Cash and Gold Worth US $18,000 From Boss.
Police in Bulawayo have arrested a former garden boy who connived with a friend to steal gold and money from former boss, who is a gold dealer.
Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the arrest and revealed that Andrew Chirasha and Ngonidzashe Kunguya meticulously planned their crimes, by monitoring the movements of the victim and waiting until the house was unattended. They would then jump into the yard and force open the kitchen door using a screwdriver. Once inside, they would proceed to the bedroom and steal either gold or cash and leave without being noticed.
“At first they took cash amounting to US$900.00 and no report was made as the complainant thought that his wife was the one behind the missing cash,” said Inspector Ncube.
The Missing Gold
He added, “They went on to take US$400.00, US$6,000.00, 12 Kg of Gold and 45 kg of Gold on different occasions and no report was made since there was no sign of break in into the house.”
Inspector Ncube further revealed that the complainant got wind of the matter that Andrew Chirasha, his former garden boy, was the one behind all the missing gold and money and was on the run.
