ZIDA spread its wings to Bulawayo
The Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency (ZIDA) officially opened a branch in Bulawayo on 24 October to cater for the southern region.
This is government’s effort to decentralise services in the country, and the branch will cover the provinces of Bulawayo Metropolitan, Midlands and Matebeleland North and South.
The agency specialises in promoting and facilitating both local and foreign investment within the country.
Officially opening the branch, Finance and Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister Mthuli Ncube. Decentralisation of such operations by agencies such as ZIDA is part of the process which plays a role in addressing the ease of doing business for local and foreign investors in the country.
The Vision
“Our vision is to see more of these offices being opened in strategic locations across the country. To augment what is already available and this should ultimately improve the overall experience of business establishment and operation for all investors,” he said.
Moreover, the branch also provides information on business registration, licensing and investment advice tourism operations, allow investor to register their interest in mining claims and connect with claim holders.
Services on Offer
“The office provides information on mining claims, including location, mineral resources. It also allows investors to register their interest in claims and connect with claim holders and also provide investment advice,” he said.
He encouraged potential investors to visit the offices and learn about investment opportunities available in the country.
The Zida offices in Bulawayo can be accessed on the ground floor of Central Africa House, situated at the corner of Jason Moyo and Leopold Takawira.
