ZRP Bulawayo Assures Public of Enhanced Security Measures at ZITF
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Bulawayo has announced that they have put CCTV cameras in strategic areas around the city to ensure the safety and security of both local and international visitors attending the event.
Bulawayo Provincial Police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube in an interview, assured the public that they are well-prepared to deal with any criminal activities that might occur during the trade fair.
“In addition to that, we have put CCTV cameras in strategic areas around the city centre, which I cannot mention. Those cameras are beaming to the ZITF police stand, we are doing all this as part of our zero tolerance to crime and those with such criminal minds are here and now warned,” stated Inspector Ncube.
Crime Prevention Measures
To combat criminal activities, both uniformed and non-uniformed police officers have been deployed in all crime hotspots across the city. The ZRP has also emphasised the need for motorists to secure their vehicles properly and refrain from leaving valuables unattended in cars.
Inspector Ncube urged residents to take necessary precautions to secure their homes during the ZITF period.
“We are glad because we have a community that fully understands the work of the police and fully participates in the fight against crime. We have a very effective business against crime forums, crime liaison committees, neighbourhood watch committees, as well as our junior call clubs who are all aware of this event,” Inspector Ncube added.
Child Safety Precautions
Furthermore, the spokesperson advised parents and guardians to place name tags with contact numbers in the pockets of their children. This measure would assist security personnel in identifying and reuniting lost minors during the ZITF.
Inspector Ncube concluded by assuring the public that safety was guaranteed throughout the duration of the trade fair. The ZRP Bulawayo’s commitment to implementing robust security measures, including the use of CCTV cameras and increased police presence, aims to deter criminals and maintain a secure environment for all attendees.
With these preparations in place, the ZITF is poised to be a successful event, fostering trade and economic growth while ensuring the safety and well-being of participants and visitors alike.
