Chef Nyarie the founder of Bulawayo Finger Foods, is gaining recognition for her unique approach to providing snacks and finger foods in the area.
Chef Nyarie who is 29-years-old and originally from Bulawayo, came up with the idea for her business after noticing that many food businesses in the area were simply offering meals like rice and sadza.
Finger Foods and Platters
Chef Nyarie’s business focuses on offering finger foods and platters, hosting cocktail parties, and providing catering services. Her menu includes over 50 different types of finger foods such as bacon-wrapped drumsticks, samosas, meatballs, cucumber bits, pies, and sausage rolls.
Furthermore, speaking about what sets BYO Finger Foods apart from other food businesses in the area, Chef Nyarie said, “We offer snacks, finger foods, and platters, and we also host cocktail parties while offering catering services. This is something that is not commonly found in the area, which has helped us to gain a lot of clients.”
Challenges
One of the most significant challenges Chef Nyarie has faced is making people understand what finger foods are. But she has overcome these challenges by introducing a price list for upmarket and low market clients. She has also managed to maintain the quality of her ingredients by sourcing them from reliable companies.
Moreover, despite the success of her business, Makaza has faced some challenges as a business owner. “Making people understand what finger foods are was a bit of a challenge initially. We overcame this challenge by introducing a price list for both our upmarket and low market clients,” she explained.
COVID-19
When COVID-19 pandemic struck BYO Finger Foods was not an exception and it was hit hard just like many others. However, she overcame challenges and adapted to changes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
