A Tale of Perseverance and Love for Children: Small business creates opportunity and hope for a struggling family
In a heart-warming tale of determination and love for children, Mandle Baby Wear, a small family-owned business, has risen against challenging circumstances to become a flourishing enterprise. Founder Mandlenkosi Mavundla born into a financially struggling family of four, harnessed their passion for accounting and love for kids to establish a business that not only supports their family but also provides employment opportunities to others.
In the face of adversity, one small family has managed to overcome numerous challenges to build a successful baby wear business. Mandle Baby Wear, founded by a resilient young entrepreneur, not only provides for her own family but also creates employment opportunities and contributes to the local economy.
Dedication
Despite facing numerous hardships, including the loss of their father’s job soon after Mandlenkosi was born, the family persevered and struggled to make ends meet each day. Mandlenkosi’s mother dedicated herself to selling anything she could find to provide for the family’s needs, including academic fees for him and their younger brother. This early experience taught Mandlenkosi value of money management and inspired their deep-rooted desire to become an accountant.
“My academic fees were being catered for by a hustling mother…on top of that, bills as well,” shares the determined founder, who recently completed their Diploma studies. Inspired by their challenging background and an innate passion for acquiring and managing money, they set their sights on becoming an accountant.
Establishing the Business
It was the love for children that eventually led the founder to start Mandle Baby Wear. “I am drawn to children, I love taking care of them and providing for them,” they express. This deep-rooted affection motivated them to establish a business dedicated to providing quality clothing for kids.
When asked about the secret to their success, the founder emphasized the importance of presentation in their product line. “I believe presentation is key to success in this line of work…from materials, decoration, pricing, color coding, etc.”, he explained.
Furthermore, Mandle Baby Wear remains committed to upholding high standards, never compromising quality for price. Customer satisfaction is at the core of the business. The founder placed great value on customer feedback, asserting that “the foundation of the business is customer satisfaction.” They strive to gain and retain customers by actively seeking feedback and opinions, constantly tailoring their offerings to meet their needs.
Maintaining open communication with suppliers, employees, and customers is pivotal for Mandle Baby Wear. “We keep that chain rotating continuously,” the founder acknowledges. By involving stakeholders in all stages of production and being transparent, the business manages to avoid miscommunication and ensure a smooth operation.
Business Challenges
Moreover, like any growing business, Mandle Baby Wear encounters various challenges, ranging from staff and machinery shortages to inconsistent material supply and price hikes. However, the team remains resilient, finding solutions through proper planning, dividing production and management time, utilizing social media platforms, seeking financial assistance from loans, and receiving support from relatives.
Looking ahead, Mandle Baby Wear has ambitious aspirations to expand its operations. With an eye towards expansion, Mandle Baby Wear founder aims to build his own premises to facilitate material stocking, processing, production, and storage. Additionally, the business plans to invest in machinery that aids in the design and production of new Baby wear.
Lastly, His journey is a testament of how small owned businesses are contributing to the growth of the economy and sustain families.
