Attempted Murder: Brother Stabs Brother in Domestic Dispute
In a shocking incident of domestic violence, a 47-year-old man was stabbed by his own brother during a domestic dispute involving his children on 2 August in Bulawayo.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the report of attempted murder, highlighting the dire consequences of unresolved conflicts within families.
“On the 2nd of August 2023 at around 0700 hours, the complainant a male adult aged 47 years of Gwabalanda, was in his bedroom when he heard his two daughters aged 21 years and 19 years having a misunderstanding with the accused person, a male adult aged 43 years in the kitchen,” said Inspector Ncube.
He added, “The complainant proceeded to the kitchen where he saw the accused person armed with a kitchen knife threatening to assault his daughters. When the complainant tried to separate the trio, the accused person got furious with him as well. He stabbed him once inside on the left palm and once on the back.”
Stable Condition
He then ran away soon after committing the offence. The complainant sustained a cut on his palm and a stab wound on the back. A police report was made to the police. The complainant was ferried to Mpilo Hospital. His condition is stable.
Commenting on this incident Inspector Ncube implored people to desist from violence and seek help from third parties in cases of differences.
Lastly, in light of this harrowing incident the police spokesperson also appealed to the public to assist with whereabouts of the accused person saying, “Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused person to report to any nearest police station.”
