Swizz, born Swizinage Gwauya, discovered his passion for music in 2018, initially as a freestyle enthusiast. What sets Zimdancehall apart from other music genres, according to Swizz, is its versatility and universality. With this in mind, Swizz set out to create his upcoming album, “Skyscraper Heights,” with a blend of different genres. The album features collaborations with artists from diverse musical backgrounds, including Maskandi, AfroPop, AmaPiano, and even a gospel dancehall cover. Swizz shared, “I tried mixing everything to try and accommodate everyone because everyone in any situation can relate to the relevant song.” Fans can expect fireworks and an exciting musical experience when they listen to “Skyscraper Heights.”
Beyond his artistic pursuits, Swizz credits his parents, fans, and manager for their unwavering support, which has played a significant role in his musical journey. He also mentioned the encouragement he receives from fellow artists and industry professionals such as Moyoxide and Daddy D Events. These mentors keep him motivated as he continues to grow as an artist.
Despite his undeniable talent and success, Swizz faces the challenges that come with being an artist in Swizz. Financial limitations have hindered some of his creative ideas, and lack of access to a personal studio has prompted Swizz to seek alternative ways to cut costs and generate income. Determined to overcome these obstacles, Swizz expressed his desire to have his own studio equipment, not only to reduce recording expenses but also to have the opportunity to collaborate with other artists in a professional setting.
With the forthcoming release of “Skyscraper Heights,” Swizz plans to promote the album through various platforms, including extensive social media coverage and physical CD distribution. Swizz aims to reach a wider audience by making the album easily accessible and appealing to diverse music lovers.
